Criticism For Lack of Non-White Comedians
[edit]Am I the only one that finds it odd that about a quarter of the blurb on his Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee section is about his response to some blog criticizing him about not having enough non-white comedians? As far as I can tell the show was just supposed to be conversations with comedians he's met over the years not some representation of all comedy in America. No information about this criticism is found on the Comedians in Cars wikipedia page itself and the blog (the vulture) has no wikipedia page of its own. Hardly notable in my opinion, I mean if you had to sum up what Comedians in Cars Getting coffee is in four sentences I don't see why one of them would be about some blog criticizing him.
Talk more about the Jerry Seinfeld being booed and walked out
[edit]As part of the college protests across America and in the world, in Duke University, when Jerry Seinfeld spoke at the commencement for Duke University, he was booed by graduates and some even walked out due to Seinfeld's support for Israel. Correditor56 (talk) 15:32, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- Not notable. Seasider53 (talk) 16:00, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- More notable than 90% of the article, random one off events where nothing of note happened or him buying a car for instance 75.118.14.101 (talk) 10:51, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- I disagree. It was notable and widely covered, not just in American news (The Atlantic, VF, LA Times), but in British news (Guardian,BBC), and news from France ([1]) and even India([2]). VR (Please ping on reply) 17:16, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
- We have an entire section on which coffee machines Seinfeld likes! Of course, adding his political opinions to this article is relevant.VR (Please ping on reply)
Factual Errors / Discrepancies
[edit]“In May 1993, days after his 38th birthday, Seinfeld met 17-year-old Shoshanna Lonstein in Central Park.” Seinfeld was born April 29th, 1954, so he would’ve been 39 in May 1993. But most sources say he was 38 and she was 17, so perhaps they met before May. Either way, that doesn’t matter, but the current text is just mathematically impossible and should be fixed. 2600:4040:50FD:A200:4598:B8F0:99EF:8E8D (talk) 14:08, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
Can we revert the photo?
[edit]The new photo is from 2019 and genuinely looks terrible. It's a low angel shot that obscures his hair. The 2023 photo it used to be (which is a cropped version of one in his personal life section) is a lot better. Thoughts? 2600:1700:95FA:E3C0:55E1:4B8:AB2E:44F6 (talk) 03:53, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- Agree. The present image looks like he died and was stuffed. Quaerens-veritatem (talk) 04:28, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
